1. How long does it take for my welcome letter to come?
It really depends on where you're applying from. Once the application has been sent to Ucas, it can take around 24-48 hours to process. Once processed, the letter will be generated and sent. This can take two to three working days to be received if being sent in the UK, but up to 21 days if being sent overseas
Once you have applied through Novelwall, you will get the general welcome from us to look into findng you placements, processing your application and walking you through the steps. Our turn around time can be as quick as 24 hours!
Novelwall upto 48 hours quicker
2. How much does the application cost?
The application fee is £12 for a single choice and £23 for two to five choices. Each new application made requires a new payment of £12 or £23.
It starts at £50 and is capped at £100 with a guarantee placement or money back. Also note that certain universities have their own admission fees that is non refundable. We have partnerships with certain Institutes that exempts these non-refundable fee's whether you pass or fail.
Novelwall is a slightly higher fee but more is included and you get a money back guarantee if we cannot find you a placement
3. When is the best time to apply?
In short, the best time to apply is by the deadline for your course! For most courses, the deadline will be Mid January. However courses such as medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine/science had a deadline of Mid October, as did all applications for the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. There are also some art and design courses which have a deadline of late March, next year.
There is no ideal time to apply but the earlier you can apply the better to avoid a course being potentially over subscribed. However Novelwall handles a lot of late submissions to get students onboard even after admission close.
Through our close partnership relationships we may be able get you onto a course beyond the close date
4. How many times should I redraft my personal statement?
There isn't going to be a magic number with this could be multiple times, but the key will be getting other people to read it and have their input as part of the redrafting process. Don't forget that your personal statement will be seen by a number of admissions staff during the application process, so it's a good idea to get teachers, parents and friends to have a look over it and offer their thoughts on what you've written.
Novelwall take care of this for you with our team, we have a team of experts who work closely with the University on a daily basis so know exactly what they are looking for and execute this for you as part of our service. All included as part of the fee.
Only Novelwall will help you with your personal statement this is included as apart of the service
5. When is the soonest/latest I will receive an offer?
This can be up to 16 weeks. This really will vary depending on the university/college and individual courses. Some universities may make all their decisions at the same time and others may stagger them throughout the year. Or it can be the case that individual faculties within a university may make decisions at different times. However if you apply by the 15 January deadline, the latest University can make a decision is the first week in May. This can be upto16 weeks
Novelwall can give you an answer at the end of the interview, as provisional Yes so an instant decision. This is based on us working with Universities in some cases for many years and knowing the qualification criteria, at an expert level. The formal Yes may take a maximum of 2 weeks.
In the worst case scenario Novelwall will be 16 times faster
6. When will I hear from courses I applied to before the October deadline? Shouldn't I have already heard?
This can be up to 28 weeks, as above, a decision can be made at any time up until May, the following year. In terms of hearing back about an interview, this will vary depending on the university and course. If you're worried that you've not heard back then get in touch with your university for an update on the status of the application.
The formal Yes may take a maximum of 2 weeks.
Novelwall 26 weeks faster
7. What are the best times/dates to check my Ucas Track for updates? (i.e. When is it most often updated – ever in the middle of the night?)
Track will update throughout the day as and when universities process their decisions. In the majority of cases, Track will update immediately following a university decision. However, depending on the internal systems being used by some universities, the update may happen overnight.
Novelwall works closely with their partnered Universities and colleges to get live update continuously regarding a student therefore you will be given a call every step of the process
8. Many of my friends already have offers – does that mean there are fewer places left for me?
No. Universities may make decisions at different points throughout the year, so if some friends have already had offers it doesn't mean that an offer wouldn't be made to you at a later date. Also, it's important not to think that one offer being made represents one university place no longer available. Many universities will make more offers than there are places available because they know that not all offers will result in a confirmed place. This can be for various reasons such as not meeting the conditions of the offer, only being accepted as an insurance choice or the offer being declined by an applicant.
No. Students will be offered placements Subject to personal academic and work history therefore Novelwall will always work closely withyours to give you the best options on course availability and location. We will always be able to squeeze you into an intake.
9. Can I still change my choices if I've applied?
Yes. You can substitute a university choice within seven days of the date on your original Welcome letter by going to the Choices section of Track and clicking on 'Substitute Choice'. Outside of the seven days, it's not possible to do this. If you wish to change a course choice but remain with the same university, you should speak to them directly about whether they'd be willing to change this for you. There's no seven-day window in this case but any change would be at the university's discretion.
Yes Definitely! Even if it is last minute!
10. What if my CV needs updating?
This would be down to you individually to update your CV to have it ready for the University
Novelwall will help you get your CV updated included as part of your fee
Only Novelwall will help you with your CV this is included as part of the service
11. What if the course has lots of pending applicants ahead of me, and I may miss out?
Unfortunately we have no influence over this process
Novelwall have the ability and the leverage to fast track you past applicants currently going through vetting process who have applied directly our decision could be in the worst case scenario 8 -80 times faster. This is based on a verbal yes on day 1 or having to wait the full 2 weeks for the answer from the University as opposed to the 16 week wait. This is based on a submission close date of mid Jan, and the answers from the University when you apply directly you will get an answer by the end of the first full week in May
Worst case scenario Novelwall will be 8 times faster, but you could get a Yes from us on day 1.
