- As of 21 November 2020, those flying to Canada can submit their travel and contact information along with other details on ArriveCAN, an app launched by the Canadian government to keep those living in the country safe.
- The Government of Canada has announced that starting 22 February 2021, international air travelers landing in Canada will have to quarantine in a government-approved hotel. You will need to reserve a 3-night stay in advance of traveling. Hotels can be booked starting 18 February 2021 and should be booked in the city that you arrive.
- Based on current Government of Canada policies, when you arrive in Canada, the government officials will assess your health and your 14-day quarantine plan before leaving the port of entry (e.g., airport). It is up to the discretion of the border agent to approve entry into Canada.
- Before entering Canada as an international student, you must have a valid student permit or a letter of introduction that proves that you have been approved for a study permit.
- In Canada, some Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) will be reopening campuses to international students for the September 2021 intake.
- Students planning on going to Canada for higher education must ensure that their Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) are on the list of DLIS with approved readiness plans to counter the pandemic.
